Welcome to the website of St. Mary & St. Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church in Buford, GA. We are a beautifully diverse parish of disciples of Jesus Christ.

You have visited our website at a particularly exciting time in the life of this parish. We have outgrown our former Church campus because of our many developing and thoughtful parish programs. We have moved to a more appropriate-sized Church campus where we continue to praise God and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

If you are seeking a community in which you are safe to love and be loved—you can find it here. I invite you to explore the rest of our website to get a sense of who we are and what we are up to. And may the peace of God surround you now and remain with you forever!

Ivan Burba led a curious group as we explored the symbolism of the Seder Meal.It was a fun and interesting learning experience!

Service Schedule

Our service schedule is consistent throughout the year, with a combined mass four times annually. We worship weekly at 8am, and 10:30am, on Sundays with a coffee hour following the 10:30 service.  We have a Contemplative Mass at 12:00 Noon on Wednesdays in the Chapel. Our worship schedule

Faith Formation

We are excited to offer two means of formal Christian education to the children of our parish: Godly Play (GP) and Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). GP will take place every Sunday between services for all children in grades kindergarten through 5th. On Wednesday nights, the children will be able to delve deeper in their faith formation in age specific classes of CGS.  If you would like to volunteer for this important ministry, please Karen Murphy know:

We take Adult Faith Formation seriously and we consistently offer Bible Study and Episcopal Life classes.  These classes provide a strong foundation to our faith and in our tradition.  With that strong foundation, we can help you build and strengthen your faith with our other offerings.  Please visit the Faith Formation page for more information. If there are any classes you would love to see offered or if you have any questions about our classes or would like to serve on the Adult Faith Formation Committee, please contact us at

Changes and Additions to our Campus:

We are currently remodeling our worship space to accommodate our worship style. Although messy and a little inconvenient, we are excited to see the finished product. Here is a peek at the "work in progress" under our roof.
